Congregation Shaarei Shalom’s purpose is to worship God in accordance with the Jewish faith, to cultivate a love and understanding of the Jewish heritage, to stimulate fellowship in the Jewish community and to strengthen the bonds of loyalty with k’lal Yisrael. We are building a community based upon principles of faith, righteousness, compassion, and humanity. Congregation Shaarei Shalom is a Reform Jewish community devoted to providing a warm worship atmosphere where congregants of all ages are welcome at all services, at all times, and feel involved and connected with each other, with our clergy, and with God. We offer a participatory worship experience where clergy and congregants work together to achieve spiritually enriching and uplifting services. Congregation Shaarei Shalom, founded in March 2006, is dedicated to addressing the needs of a changing Riverdale community and the diversity in the Reform Jewish movement. We are an inclusive house of worship that involves and embraces singles, families, both traditional and non-traditional, with and without children at home, couples, gays, seniors, and interfaith families.
